Ministry: Russia’s annual inflation slows down to 6.5%
MOSCOW, Jul 22 (PRIME) – Russia’ consumer price inflation index slowed down to 6.5% annually as of Monday from 6.56% as of July 12, the Economic Development Ministry said in a report late on Wednesday.
Fruit and vegetables became 4.37% cheaper as of Monday compared to the beginning of July, but since January 1, the prices have gone up 10.68%. Food inflation amounted to 7.66% from January 1 through Monday and to 7.61% excluding the prices for fruit and vegetables.
Non-food inflation amounted to 7.59% in the period, and prices for gasoline rose by 5.9%.
